You do not need to have dance attire and shoes to start your dance course, as the selection of suitable dance attire and footwear can be discussed with your instructor during your first dance lesson. They will be able to make recommendations and advise on the best dance wear to purchase. Please do wear clothing that makes it easy for you to move in – that are not restricting your body in any way if possible!

Absolutely! S&C Dance is entirely dedicated to adults who wish to dance for their own pleasure, so you are more than welcome to join.

You definitely need to practice if you intend to make progress in your dance skills. Attending your dance lessons will provide you with the guidance and feedback needed to improve, but personal daily practice is necessary to enhance your dance abilities.

It all depends on your current level of dance experience. As a complete beginner, you can start with 15 minutes each day to establish a daily practice routine. This can gradually increase to 30 minutes as you become more comfortable with the dance techniques taught during your lessons.

Not at all. All our dance teachers have been chosen for their understanding of adults who dance for their own pleasure. They are extremely patient, kind, and supportive. Rest assured that your instructor will never judge, patronise, or criticise you negatively.

Yes, we do offer preparation for various dance examinations and certifications, but participating in these exams is not mandatory.

It’s challenging to provide a specific timeframe as it depends on your individual abilities and goals. However, from our experience, we can say that you should be able to perform some basic dance routines after a few classes.

The duration of your dance course depends on your personal goals. After attending for a minimum of 3 months, your lessons can continue on an ongoing basis until you are satisfied with your dance skills or unable to continue your education. We need four teaching weeks for you to stop your dance classes. We do also have flexible options available without commitment for students who need a more flexible solution.

Certainly. If you are an advanced dancer, please inform us before starting your course. We can arrange for you to be paired with one of our senior dance instructors, who possess the expertise and experience to help you advance further.

Absolutely. We understand the transition from classical dance to other styles can be challenging, and we would be delighted to support you in exploring different dance styles.

We do not follow a fixed syllabus but adapt our dance lessons to each individual to provide you with the most suitable dance education. The content of your dance lessons will depend on your current abilities, preferences, and the dance style you are studying. Upon request, we can also follow specific dance syllabi.
